Discussing Tourism –Tackling tourism’s carbon challenge
Tourism has to play its part in national and global efforts to reduce carbon emissions. The Climate Change Response (Zero Carbon) Amendment Act 2019 sets New Zealand’s target net emissions for all greenhouse gases (except methane) to zero by 2050.

To ensure the tourism industry is well placed to meet this target, TIA has made carbon reduction a focus area for the Tourism Sustainability Commitment. Successfully tackling the carbon challenge will give our industry a competitive advantage as a destination. Reducing carbon emissions also has many positive benefits for tourism businesses, including cost savings.

In this webinar, we’ll discuss climate action, and what the Government and wider systems are doing to address it. We’ll also talk about how tourism businesses can tackle the challenge of carbon measurement and reduction, including examples, advice and inspiration.

Bruce Bassett, Industry Strategy Manager TIA
