OKS Dialog Series - Capturing and sharing solutions during Pandemic
Description
The ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of Organizational Knowledge Sharing. Due to limitations on travel and widespread home-based work, the need for effective mechanisms for coordination and collaboration within and across organizations and government entities has never been more acute. The same holds true for onboarding of new staff, retention of organizational knowledge, and capturing and sharing of lessons on how to operate within a dramatically altered business environment.
The objective of the OKS Dialog (Webinar) series is to share experience, among Knowledge Management professionals, on how OKS tools and approaches are being utilized to navigate the pandemic.
The first session of the Dialog Series will explore how cities are mobilizing to share knowledge and experience on managing the Covid 19 pandemic. The session will highlight two knowledge sharing initiatives of the Global Resilient Cities Network. The 1st, conducted by GRCN in collaboration with the World Bank, is the Cities on the Frontline webinar series which is conducted on a weekly basis and brings together city Chief Resilience Officers and other technical experts to share knowledge on how they are addressing various dimensions of the pandemic and its impacts on the economic and social development of their cities. The 2nd initiative to be highlighted is the Resilient Leadership insight series which engaged twelve senior leaders, including Chief Resilience Officers of cities in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America on a weekly basis over a fourteen week period to distill insights on the challenges they were facing as a result of the pandemic and how they were addressing them.
Speakers: Lauren Sorkin, Executive Director of the Global Resilient Cities Network, Francis Ghesquiere, World Bank Practice Manager for Urban Development and Resilience for East Asia and the Pacific and Piero Pelizzaro, Chief Resilience Officer, city of Milan
