Bring in the Experts - Series on legislative changes
We are excited to deliver to you a webinar series on legislative changes. We will bring you this series over the next four weeks which covers FMA requirements and regulations, Privacy Law updates, Trust Law and AML changes.

Part 1 - April 28th - Update from the Financial Markets Authority - The new financial advice regime has launched – so how are you tracking? The FMA’s John Botica and Derek Grantham provide an overview of key steps for success in your first 90 days as a FAP. This update will allow advisers to get a better understanding of what the regulator is considering and what areas they have concerns about and where to from here.

Part 2 - May 5th - Privacy Law Requirements - The new Privacy Act has affected all businesses and anybody who obtains personal details. The new Act has meant significant changes for businesses in New Zealand. In many instances, the Act highlighted how many businesses where already non-compliant with existing legislation and has bought the need to be compliant to the forefront. Our expert speaker is Vanya Vida Senior Policy Adviser.

Part 3 - May 12th - New Trust Laws - The new Act was a significant overhaul of the current NZ Trust law system. The Act is designed to restate and clarify previous Trust law. Most New Zealand Trusts are used to hold assets, and historically may not have always had a lot of involvement from Trustees. Trustees are now expected to manage their Trusts much more directly. There are increased obligations and responsibilities imposed by the Act. Our expert speaker is Tom Mahony.

Part 4 - May 19th - AML Compliance - This webinar will cover the basics of the law with a focus on Financial advisers and what they need to be aware of under the legislation. Ask yourself do you know the difference between AML/CFT document certifications as opposed to document verification? Our expert speaker is Uddhav Kirtikar.

This webinar is free to members and $50+gst for non-members (non-members email info@financialadvice.nz).
