Webinar Registration for Strategic Time Horizons in Philanthropy: Family and Foundation Perspectives
More and more, foundations are breaking the status quo and no longer defaulting to existing in perpetuity. Philanthropic time horizons are becoming the subject of thoughtful discussions within organizations that are driving intentional, strategic choices.

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors recently concluded in-depth research on how time horizon decisions are made, and how those decisions impact the overall approach and operations of donors and their institutions. This research resulted in two reports:

Global Trends and Strategic Time Horizons in Family Philanthropy (developed in collaboration with Campden Wealth)

Strategic Time Horizons: A Global Snapshot of Foundation Approaches

These studies represent unique global research into philanthropy and include views not only on reasons for giving, but also on causes, giving geographies, time horizons, decision-making and next generation involvement.

This webinar will dive more deeply into this research, and will feature examples and personal experiences of two foundation leaders:

--Ellen Friedman, Executive Director of the Compton Foundation, which recently announced the decision to become a time-limited entity that will spend down its remaining assets within seven years; and
--Valerie Rockefeller, Board Chair of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, currently an in-perpetuity organization that regularly reviews its philanthropic timeframe.

Along with Olga Tarasov, RPA Director of Knowledge Development, these insightful leaders will provide webinar participants with an in-depth understanding of how strategic time horizons impact philanthropic giving. The panelists will also address considerations for organizations that are contemplating a change to their approach.
