Powell's Books Presents Jenn Louis in Conversation With Justin Chapple

Louis will be joined in conversation by Justin Chapple, culinary director-at-large of Food & Wine and author of Just Cook It!

Jenn Louis
Jenn Louis has enjoyed a culinary career spanning more than two decades. She has owned several highly acclaimed Portland restaurants, as well as a successful full-service catering company. Jenn has competed on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters, was named one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs in 2012, and her simple, sophisticated cooking style, championing seasonal Pacific Northwest US ingredients, has earned her two nominations for the James Beard Foundation Award of Best Chef: Northwest. Her debut cookbook, Pasta By Hand, published in 2015, was nominated for an IACP from the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Her second book, The Book of Greens, won an IACP award in 2017 and was nominated for a James Beard Award. Louis is involved with nonprofits including Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and Portland Homeless Family Shelter. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her three cats, Wasco, Silverado Silverstein and Tov, and loves to garden, read, and cook for her neighbors.
Justin Chapple
Justin Chapple is the Culinary Director-at-large of FOOD & WINE. He is the host of their video series, Mad Genius Tips, for which he was nominated twice for a prestigious James Beard Award. Justin is the author of Just Cook It! (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2018) and Mad Genius Tips (Oxmoore House, November 2016). He has been featured in Food & Wine, People, O, The Oprah Magazine, Rachel Ray Every Day, and Real Simple magazines, among others, and appears regularly on NBC’s Today show and the Food Network Kitchen. Originally from California, Justin moved to New York City in 2003. He’s a graduate of the French Culinary Institute in New York City.
