Presented by the AMS Committee on Weather Analysis and Forecasting, this webinar series offers an opportunity for researchers in weather-related fields to better understand how proposal calls are shaped and funding decisions are made. This month's webinar features Program Directors Chungu Lu, Jielun Sun, and Nicholas Anderson from the Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences Section, Geosciences Directorate, National Science Foundation.
Join program managers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy's Atmospheric System Research program, and others to learn the following: how program priorities are determined, the role of letters of intent/pre-applications, how reviewers are selected, the role of program managers in making funding decisions, the special role specific data sources should play in the proposals, and helpful tips that may not make the official request for proposals but that investigators nevertheless should keep in mind when submitting.
Each webinar will start with a short presentation from a program manager, followed by a live Q&A session. Webinars will be archived via the AMS Community webinar recordings library.
