Jazz and the Civil Rights Movement
Renowned flutist and spoken-word artist, Abdur-Razzaq will discuss and perform jazz pieces by known jazz artists to provide an understanding and appreciation of jazz, its historical significance, and its role in the peaceful existence of mankind.

An educator, arranger, composer, and director, Abdur-Razzaq studied at the Berklee College of Music and earned a master’s degree in education from Rutgers University. For more than 30 years, he has performed and spoken to college and university students across the country.

This program is a collaboration of Haverhill Public Library and Andover Memorial Hall Library, Libraries Working Towards Social Justice.
