Green America Center for Sustainability Solutions
Soil Carbon Initiative Standard Overview
Green America and The Carbon Underground are very pleased to announce the launch of the Soil Carbon Initiative (SCI) standard for soil health and soil carbon sequestration!

Please join us for an online introduction to the standard and its elements on March 28, 2019 at 3:00 EDT/12:00 PDT.

SCI is a unique outcomes-focused, measurable standard for soil health and soil carbon designed to engage everyone working with soil. The goal of the standard is to incentivize farming practices that build healthy soil and sequester carbon, to demonstrate that agriculture done right can help reverse climate change. This standard helps companies to leverage their agricultural supply chains to drive the transformation needed to ensure a livable planet.

This standard has been created with the support of a design team that includes Danone North America, Ben & Jerry’s, and MegaFood; scientific guidance from a world-class advisory board; technical support from NSF; and input from over 150 stakeholders from across the supply chain. The public comment period is currently open through May 5, 2019.
