Chris manages Oceanic Society’s California-based programs, continuing the non-profit’s tradition of ocean faring expeditions that began in 1972. Also, he leads whale-centric expeditions in California and Mexico as a naturalist. His work as a photographer from such trips has been featured in several media outlets, including the San Francisco Chronicle and ABC News.
Peter Winch
Naturalist and Education Specialist @Oceanic Society & the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary
Peter holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Plymouth University in England. He is a naturalist and education specialist at the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary with experience studying seabirds for U.S. Fish and Wildlife. Peter has been an Oceanic Society whale watching naturalist for more than 15 years, leading trips to the Farallon Islands, Vancouver Island, and Belize. In his free time, he is an avid surfer, diver, and artist. In September 2016, Peter published his first book, “The Giant Ocean Coloring Book."
