#ReformDCJustice Wards 7 & 8 Virtual Candidate Forum
en español: acludc.org/esp

Washington D.C.’s criminal justice system is broken. Community trust in police is diminished, systemic racism drives increasing inequality and inflicts harm on communities of color, and violence persists in our neighborhoods.

These problems have only been exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis.

Join us for a Virtual Candidate Forum as we ask candidates for D.C. Council seats in Wards 7 and 8 how they will advance criminal justice reform if they are elected to serve the District. All candidates on the June 2 primary ballot have been invited to attend.

Closed-captioning, ASL, and live Spanish language interpretation will be provided. The event will be recorded.

The forum for candidates for D.C. Council in Ward 7 will run from 6 - 7 PM ET.

The forum for candidates for D.C. Council in Ward 8 will run from 7 - 8 PM ET.

Attendees will be able to submit questions during the event if they join via computer or tweet questions before or during the forum using the hashtag #ReformDCJustice.

This event is hosted by the ACLU of the District of Columbia, and co-hosted by Black Swan Academy, BYP100, Campaign for Youth Justice, Council for Court Excellence, DC Justice Collaborative, DC NAACP, Fair Budget Coalition, John Wesley AME Zion Church, Justice for Muslims Collective, Justice Policy Institute, Many Languages One Voice, National Reentry Network for Returning Citizens, Stop Police Terror Project DC, and the Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs
