Meet the Mayor - Leon Rockingham, Jr. of North Chicago

Join the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute as we inaugurate our new Meet the Mayor series on Wednesday, September 9 at 11:00 a.m. CT via Zoom for a conversation with Leon Rockingham, Jr., the mayor of North Chicago and the current president of the Illinois Municipal League.

A lifelong resident of North Chicago, Rockingham became mayor of the city in 2005. For more than three decades, he was a systems technician for AT&T and he served as North Chicago’s 4th Ward Alderman from 1989 to 2001.

This program is part of a new series of virtual conversations sponsored by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute with mayors from different Illinois communities focusing on the their career and the challenges and opportunities civic leaders face during this time of tumultuous change.
