Claudine Kavanaugh, PhD, MPH, RD

Claudine Kavanaugh is the Director of the Office of Nutrition and Food Labeling in the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. She has been with the FDA for 15 years and her recent activities include leading the FDA Nutrition Innovation Strategy, restaurant menu and vending machine labeling, and updating the Nutrition Facts label. Prior to joining the FDA, Dr. Kavanaugh was a cancer prevention fellow at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Kavanaugh received her Ph.D. in nutrition from Purdue University and a Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. She is also registered dietitian.
Maya Maroto, EdD, MPH, RD

Maya Maroto is a Public Health Educator at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). Dr. Maroto works to develop, implement, and evaluate consumer nutrition and food safety education initiatives at FDA. Prior to joining FDA, she worked on nutrition education projects at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and has a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Morgan State University, a Master of Public Health in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from Auburn University.
Robin McKinnon, PhD, MPA

Robin McKinnon is a Senior Advisor for Nutrition Policy at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). Dr. McKinnon works to advance nutrition-related activities across CFSAN. Prior to joining FDA, Dr. McKinnon was a Health Policy Specialist at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health. At NCI, Dr. McKinnon’s primary responsibilities were to lead initiatives to advance policy-relevant research on diet, obesity and physical activity. Dr. McKinnon has a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from the George Washington University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University.
