A three day event focusing entirely on the theoretical benefits and psychology behind BDSM and fetish, entitled “Healing Through Kink”.
The event will include live webinars from therapists, counselors and mental health experts, as well as panels and round table discussions with performers and producers.
Regardless of someone’s trauma, which may look exactly like their kink or not at all, kink provides a container for a somatic and relational experience that can re-write our narratives.
For survivors of sexual assault, profound reclamation can be found through the negotiation, execution and aftercare of a scene. By playing in a controlled environment where the sub dictates what happens, we can re-write traumatic moments from the past, in a way that they are in charge. Not only are we healing in the moment, but portals are opened to heal past selves and repair places where traumatic energy may remain stuck in the body.
Kink can be seen as a sensual, intimate and powerful somatic practice which many people find healing in. There is strength in being able to reclaim parts of your sexuality that have been buried or feel shame-fueled from past trauma.
Join us on this journey, while we discover how being a part of the kink and BDSM lifestyle can affect mental health and possibly help persons heal from past trauma.
