Smoking marijuana and teenage drinking are widespread. Equally alarming is the number of youth on opioids and other highly-addictive drugs. Some people consider it the number one threat to the health and well-being of our youth.
Many parents are blindsided by their teen’s substance abuse and don’t realize they have a serious problem until it is too late. This is an issue that impacts young people of all ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds. Fear, anxiety, and worry in an unpredictable world often lead our youth to experiment, escape, and self medicate with illicit substances. Please take the blinders off!
In this session, you will learn:
- About the signs of substance abuse
- Be aware of the risk factors
- How to openly talk with your teens
- Where to go for help
- How to address this in your community
