Handling Membranes, Scaffolds and Bone Fillers - Part 1 of 3 | Barrier Membrane Stabilization - Lasso Technique by Dr. Fred Silva
Description:
Unintentional barrier membrane exposure is an undesirable complication during guided bone regeneration procedures, but there are ways to minimize or even avoid such situations.

In this webinar Dr. Fred Silva, Clinical Assistant Professor, Periodontist at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, will share his clinical experience, and discuss a technique called “Lasso”.

Dr. Silva will evaluate situations and materials that will enable intentional exposure while not compromising the surgical outcome, healing or the quality and quantity of tissue. Priority should be given to highly bio-compatible materials with high tissue affinity produced under recent technology that imitates our own body tissues.

At the completion of this lecture, viewers will have a working knowledge of:
• Techniques to minimize unintentional exposure
• Material choice that can enable intentional exposure
• Optimize bone formation

Duration: 90 minutes, including 15 minutes for Q&A
