Whitney Otto
Whitney Otto is the author of five novels, including the New York Times bestseller How to Make an American Quilt, which was later made into a movie of the same name, and Eight Girls Taking Pictures. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, and in several anthologies. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her family.
Lidia Yuknavitch
Lidia Yuknavitch is the nationally bestselling author of the novels, The Book of Joan, The Small Backs of Children, and Dora: A Headcase, and of the memoir, The Chronology of Water. Her short fiction collection, Verge, was released in paperback last month, and her new novel, Thrust, is forthcoming as well from Riverhead. She is the recipient of two Oregon Book Awards and has been a finalist for the Brooklyn Public Library Literary Prize and the PEN Center USA Creative Nonfiction Award. Her TED Talk, The Beauty of Being a Misfit, has been viewed over 3.5 million times. She lives in Portland, Oregon, where she founded Corporeal Writing, a non-academic alternative for misfit writers and artists.
