Your Community Is Your Collaborator
How did museums adapt and rise to the challenges of the past year, including last summer’s reckoning with police brutality and social justice? And what new solutions and ideas will move cultural institutions towards a more inclusive future?

To begin answering these crucial questions, Jake Barton of Local Projects will moderate a conversation with their client the Museum of the City of New York, who have taught New Yorkers and visitors alike about the history of NYC for almost 100 years, the Museum of Science and Industry, whose unique experiences have been sparking scientific inquiry and creativity since 1933, and LaPlaca Cohen, a strategy and marketing consultancy for cultural institutions, and authors of Culture Track.

As the first event in Local Projects’ LISTENERS series, this panel will explore how listening plays a role within cultural organizations, particularly in times of collective crisis.
