Malaysia | Report Launch | Green Infrastructure Investment Opportunities
The role of infrastructure investment in Malaysia is critical to promoting sustainable economic growth, improving regional connectivity, and achieving low-carbon climate solutions.

Malaysia is well established as a global leader in Islamic Finance, and this success has been largely developed over time with the efforts of the various players in enabling a facilitative ecosystem. Both the banking regulator and capital market regulator have laid a strong regulatory and policy framework to support sustainable finance in Malaysia.

As part of efforts to profile Malaysia’s progress in green finance, Capital Markets Malaysia (CMM) has commissioned the Climate Bonds Initiative to publish a Green Infrastructure Investment Opportunities (GIIO) report for Malaysia.

The GIIO report showcases a domestic pipeline of investible green projects and highlights the role that green sukuk issuances have played in advancing green financing and encourage investments in green/sustainable projects which require funding.

The launch webinar will see discussion of report findings and prospects for growth in green finance and green sukuk investment in Malaysia and the region.
