Episode 11: Execution
“Malware can hide, but it must run.”
Alissa Torres, SANS institute
The first part of any attack is to find a way to reach the target, which usually means slipping past defenses and dodging preventive security through indirection or obfuscation. Once they’ve made it, the attacker still has a mission to accomplish.
In this session of Tradecraft Tuesday, we’ll dive into Execution from the MITRE ATT&CK framework. Execution can be as straightforward as phishing a user to open an attachment or go as far as exploiting system services such as WMI or scheduled tasks--whatever it takes to kickoff the detonation of malware. Join us and bring your questions!
