This webinar update session is suitable for registered nurses and experienced health care assistants working within primary care, who work alongside a registered nurse mentor and have
successfully completed the ‘Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccination for Health Care Assistants’ course. HCA students must have completed CPR Training within the previous twelve months
to be eligible to undertake this training course.
Please note: A competency framework is included within this webinar training. Competency is achieved in the workplace following the webinar. Each procedure needs to be signed off by a
qualified, senior member of staff. Acute will not assume any responsibility for such assessments. The completed document can then be used to identify the individuals’ competence.
Learning Outcomes Upon completion of the course students will have a sound understanding of:
• The principles and practice of the influenza and pneumococcal vaccination programme
• The safety issues related to vaccination of the general adult population
• An understanding of the legal aspects of vaccination
