Julie Edward-Sanchez
Senior Vice President, Director of Risk Solutions @USI Mid-Atlantic Region
Julie Edward-Sanchez has over 25 years of experience in the large commercial casualty industry and has worked with both Fortune 1000 and middle market companies creating customized risk management and insurance programs to meet their specific needs. Julie currently runs the technical resource team for USI’s Mid-Atlantic region. In that role Julie manages a team of loss control, claims, MPS, property and casualty professionals that are delivering a broad array of risk management solutions to manage clients’ exposures and insurance programs. Julie has an in depth knowledge of a variety of technical solutions across all lines of coverage including program design, the risk financing continuum, professional liability, claims and loss control. Julie’s experience also includes working with wrap up, master builders, risk and professional liability programs. Her experience in reinsurance also provides additional insights in creating new solutions or alternatives to business owners’ needs.
Ali Esfahani, J.D.
Vice President and ERISA Attorney @USI Mid-Atlantic Region
Ali Esfahani, J.D., is an employee benefits consultant and attorney based in Falls Church, VA. He is responsible for overall benefits strategy and implementation, including development of strategic, multi-year plans to mitigate healthcare cost increases and leveraging data and analytics to drive results for clients. Previously, Ali served as the Director of Compliance for USI Mid-Atlantic for 5 years and was responsible for all aspects of federal health and welfare legal compliance for our clients, including compliance with ERISA, health care reform (ACA), COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, MHPAEA, Internal Revenue Code taxation issues, Service Contract Act (SCA) and other federal laws impacting employer-sponsored group health plans. Previously, Ali was an attorney with Mercer Health and Benefits based out of Washington, DC, where he provided compliance assistance for large employers.
