Incentives from the authorities on quality improvement in Belgium
Quality and patient safety in hospital care is an important issue in Belgium, In recent years, both the federal and the regional Flemish government developed several incentives to intensify measures to improve quality management in hospitals.

In this webinar, Dr. Marc Geboers will present these government incentives, its different levels and the integrated approach of quality improvement (accreditation, use of indicators and involvement of the government). He will also address various issues the organizations are dealing with and the formal and informal evaluation process.

Dr. Marc Geboers
Director General Hospitals @Zorgnet Icuro
Dr. Marc Geboers is an established and highly skilled physician with over 30 years of experience in cardiology and hospital management. He is currently the Director General Hospitals of Zorgnet Icuro, the umbrella organization of Flemish general hospitals, initiatives from mental health care and non-profit institutions from elderly care. Prior to joining Zorgnet Icuro as Director General Hospitals, Dr. Geboers held C-Level managements positions in different well-established hospitals in Belgium. He earned his degree of doctor in medicine from the Catholic University Louvain in 1986. He is also an active surveyor for the Dutch accreditation organization NIAZ (Netherlands Institute for Healthcare Accreditation).
