Roger A. Goldberg, MD, MBA

Roger A. Goldberg, MD, MBA, is a vitreoretinal surgeon and partner at Bay Area Retina Associates, as well as volunteer faculty at the CPMC Ophthalmology Residency Program. He graduated from both college and medical school at Yale University, and completed his residency in Miami at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and vitreoretinal fellowship at Tufts and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. He has been an investigator in over 30 clinical trials for age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and diabetic retinopathy, among others. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Goldberg received an MBA from Yale, worked as a healthcare consultant at McKinsey & Co., and co-founded an ophthalmic startup. Shawn C. Kavoussi, MD

Dr. Kavoussi provides retina sub-specialty surgical care to patients at Scurlock Tower Suite 1812 in the Texas Medical Center, as well as several Houston-area Berkeley Eye Center locations. ​Having spent the better part of the last two decades in Houston, Dr. Kavoussi received his Bachelor’s from Rice University where he was one of only 15 students selected to the Rice-Baylor Medical Scholars program. He then earned his Doctorate of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by a transitional year internship at the University of Texas Houston. Dr. Kavoussi completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Yale University School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Hospital System. Caesar Luo, MD, FACS

Dr. Caesar K. Luo, MD, FACS is a board-certified vitreo-retinal surgeon, who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases and conditions. Dr. Luo graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York. Dr. Luo continued his education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry where he earned his medical degree with a Distinction in Community Service. Dr. Luo completed his medical internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; followed by his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Institute also in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Luo completed his training with a vitreo-retinal fellowship, including pediatric retinal surgery at Associated Retinal Consultants in Royal Oak, Michigan.
