Debunking the Doom-Sayers: Prof. Steve Koonin, the Obama Administration’s chief energy scientist, explains why global warming isn’t the dire threat portrayed by the media and policymakers.
Prof. Koonin was Undersecretary for Science at the Obama Administration’s Energy Department, as well as a distinguished physicist. He kicked over a hornets’ nest with his 2021 book Unsettled: What Climate Science Tells Us, What It Doesn't, and Why It Matters, arguing that forecasts of disaster from global warming are vastly exaggerated. He wrote, “The net economic impact of human-induced climate change will be minimal through at least the end of this century.” Koonin’s conclusions remain the subject of intense controversy in the science establishment.
Asia Times Science Editor Jonathan Tennenbaum will interview Prof. Koonin, and listeners will have the opportunity to submit questions.
