This month’s Innovator Series webinar will take place on May 27th at 3pm EDT/12PM PDT, titled: Trademarks and Branding Strategy.
IAC Education Executive Advisor and Distinguished Law Professor Myra Tawfik will be joined by expert panelists Nicole Anderson and Jason Hynes. They will explore and discuss the basics of developing a branding and marketing strategy for a business and where trademarks fit into a marketing and branding strategy. They will identify the practical steps and costs of securing trademark rights in global markets, how licensing and other strategies enhance the value of your trademark and your brand and ways to integrate legal and business best practices in developing your trademark, branding and marketing strategy. They will provide insight and wisdom from their combined wealth of legal and practical business experience in Canada and across the world.
Over the past decade, Nicole Anderson co-founded the University of Windsor’s EPICentre and was the Director for the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy at the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation. In 2020, she founded RISE Windsor-Essex and was responsible for the development and implementation of an ecosystem to support women entrepreneurs and women in STEM in the region. Nicole is currently working in Strategic Initiatives for local utilities companies, ENWIN Utilities and ENWIN Energy.
Jason Hynes is a partner with Bereskin & Parr LLP, and Head of the Waterloo Region office. Jason’s patent practice focuses on mechanical, telecommunications and software innovations. In particular, he has a strong interest in working with high tech entrepreneurs and start-ups.
