It has been a pioneer in use of digital health to empower patients, citizens and the care professionals who serve them – promoting new approaches to virtual care, interoperability and co-ordinated care planning while empowering consumers with My Health Record. The Australia Digital Dialogue series explores the opportunities for digital health today to support the ongoing response to COVD-19 and the improvement of clinical, social and economic health and care outcomes. We travel virtually across the country to learn from system leaders how they are accelerating the digital health transformation and making it the new norm.

Daniel’s position is First Assistant Secretary of Provider Benefits Integrity Division (PBID). Daniel has the responsibility of establishing a policy platform for digital health and works with the Australian Digital Health Agency (AHDA) to increase the uptake and usage of My Health Record (MHR). Daniel also has oversight of the relationship with Services Australia to improve the customer interface on health and ageing transactions to providers and customers. In his role Daniel is also responsible for protecting the integrity of Australia's health payments system through prevention, identification and treatment of incorrect claiming, inappropriate practice and fraud by health care providers, corporates and their employees and approved suppliers. Mark Kinsela (Chief Executive Officer @Pharmaceutical Society of Australia) Mark is the national Chief Executive Officer of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, the peak body representing Australia’s 32,000 pharmacists. Mark is an experienced health policy adviser and innovator with expertise in major health and aged care system reform. Mark has specific and detailed experience advising Government on digital health, population health, ageing, disability and regulatory policy. Mark is a former intensive care nurse educator, having worked in a number of clinical roles, including ICU, cardiology and cardiac/vascular catheterisation. He holds postgraduate qualifications in clinical education, critical care and business, with an MBA from AGSM. Mark is a former Officer in the Australian Army, teaching battlefield medicine and providing pre-medical support to deploying Australian Defence Force personnel. Mark has been an Advisor to Commonwealth Minister for Health, and the former Chief of Staff to the Australian Digital Health Agency. Peter O’Halloran (Chief Information Officer @ACT Health) Peter O’Halloran is the Chief Information Officer for ACT Health. Peter is responsible for information/data management and over 250 ICT systems, serving 10,000 staff who operate across four public hospitals with over 1,000 beds and 40 community facilities. Peter joined the Australian Public Service in 2006 in the National Health and Medical Research Council before moving to the National Blood Authority where he was appointed as the inaugural Chief Information Officer and was responsible for the provision of services to all Australian hospitals. Peter joined ACT Health in 2016 and since that time has embarked on a complete overhaul of all ICT services and systems with a complete replacement of all core systems currently underway, guided by the Digital Health Strategy that was launched in May 2019
