Fundamentals of Malodor and Malodor Control
Although the term ‘malodor’ is usually associated with unpleasant scents, it can be more broadly applied to any odor that is out of place. In a vehicle, a rider can enjoy the savory aroma of a freshly purchased cheesesteak with extra garlic and onions. However, the same odor with the same molecular composition will be considered repulsive if it persists in the vehicle throughout the day.
This webinar will provide a high-level overview of the sources and compositions of common malodors as well as malodor abatement strategies and means of quantification. Technical solutions including recently developed malodor counteractants with low intrinsic odor can provide effective malodor coverage without resorting to excessive levels of fragrance.
