In addition to his position at Johns Hopkins University, Cohen is a contributing writer at "The Atlantic." Previously he served as counselor at the State Department and directed the strategic studies program at SAIS. Cohen is the author of a number of books about American foreign policy, including "Supreme Command: Soldiers, Statesmen, and Leadership in Wartime" (2002).
