H.E. Mr Mohammed El-Kuwaiz

H.E. Mr Mohammed El-Kuwaiz was appointed as the chairman of the board of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) of Saudi Arabia in July 2017. Before being chairman, Mr El-Kuwaiz was the vice chairman of the board of the CMA since August 2016. Furthermore, Mr El-Kuwaiz was the co-founder and CEO of Derayah Financial Company. He was formerly a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. Before that, he worked in investment banking and corporate finance with Samba Financial Group. Moreover, Mr El-Kuwaiz has served in various roles in the financial and corporate industry. Mr El-Kuwaiz obtained an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, specialising in finance and entrepreneurship. He holds bachelors of administrative sciences with honors from King Saud University in Saudi Arabia majoring in law.

Richard Banks specialises in Middle East business development for financial institutions and corporates. He is a partner at Soling Partners LLC, a boutique advisory firm advising clients on their Middle East business development and capital raising strategies. He currently advises a group of blue-chip global asset managers with more than US$ 2trn of assets under management He is also a Non-Executive Director of Lincoln College International – a UK company with substantial investments in the GCC education sector - and a Strategic Adviser to M7 Real Estate Investment. After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, Richard worked with a number of companies before joining Euromoney Institutional Investor in 1995. He specialised in the Middle East from 2002 establishing a joint venture with Euromoney, developing their regional business. Richard stepped back from leading the joint venture in early 2016 and he remains a senior adviser to Euromoney
