Hiring Talent in an Instagram world
Hiring talent in an Instagram world…

As the world of work and technology evolves, HR and Recruitment professionals face many new challenges. Attracting potential employees and engaging them with your brand is more competitive - and important - than ever before. As a result, demonstrating a ‘perfect’ work culture is priority for many businesses.

But, why don’t we tell candidates the truth? Why during the hiring process do so many companies pretend to live in the ‘The Good Place’?

“Hey! Come and join us, we don’t have any challenges or problems to fix. Our coffee is never bitter and even though we have no fridge our beer is always ice cold!”

The reason is that we have become addicted to airbrushing out our imperfections and adding filters to appear a more attractive home for talent, just as we do in our “social media life”.

But in 2019 candidates are more savvy than ever before. Fake news has entered the lexicon and candidates can differentiate between reality and an illusion.

So, during this webinar we will be discussing and finding answers to the question: "How do you hire talent in an Instagram world?"

The second in our series of Webinars, designed to help companies and HR professionals thrive, Blue Octopus have teamed up with Simon Halkyard from ASDA, to demonstrate the importance of transparency when hiring. As specialists in the areas of recruitment process streamlining, ATS systems, and candidate sourcing, we at Blue Octopus have helped hundreds of companies evolve their current recruitment process.

Simon has worked in recruitment since 2000. He started his career working agency side, prior to managing his own recruitment business for several years, and more recently has worked in-house as a Talent Acquisition Partner at Shop Direct.
Simon is currently responsible for the in-house Resourcing team at ASDA.
