In the 3rd WEnergy Global Webinar "Decentralised Power Systems are a better and faster way to achieve full electrification” on Wednesday 23 September 2020 at 16:00-17:30 Singapore Time, a dialogue with Prof. Ashwin Khambadkone, Associate Professor at National University of Singapore, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ms. Ina Magpale-Asirit, Former Commissioner of Energy Regulatory Commission and Former Undersecretary of the Department of Energy of the Philippines, Mr. Shinichi Imai, Chief Technology Officer with Takaoka Toko Co. Ltd and Board Director of WEnergy Global, and Mr. Atem Ramsundersingh, Founder, CEO and Board Director of WEnergy Global.
Globally, over 900 million have no access to electricity. In ASEAN alone, over 100 million people, spread over remote land areas and islands, have no access to power. The speed of connectivity is happening very slow, due to governments working along conventional paradigms of electrification.
In this webinar the panellists will share their views and experiences on the fastest and cleanest way to move through the deployment of decentralised power systems that are able to use multiple energy sources that are locally available and deliver through local transmission and distribution networks. They will share their experiences with technologies that are available on the market and those that are needed and that are currently not being manufactured. The panellists will also exchange their views on the use of clean power generation technologies, such as solar PV, tidal, wind and bio systems, use of battery storage systems and they will discuss transmission and smart distribution, including smart and remote metering devices and performance monitoring of such remote and off-grid systems.
