Driving Efficiencies and Improving Security in Charities and Hospices
Driving efficiencies in any business is vital to its success, but 2020 was the year the world realised the importance of the cloud and how the pandemic has brought new factors into focus; flexible remote workforce management, lower cost for backup and disaster recovery, safe return to the workplace and business agility.

The value of the cloud and the need to embrace digital business models has been clear for years, but the realities of the pandemic have made this shift a key business priority. Ian Snow will discuss the common trends seen in the charitable and hospice sector for cloud services over the last 18 months; and talk through the strategic approach and partnership with Ashgate that has helped save costs, enable effective remote working for clinical staff including full access to SystmOne and provide improved efficiency and security in the wake of the increased threat of cyber-attacks.

Ian will be joined by Matt Corbishley from Ashgate Hospice to answer questions on the solutions we have provided and the enhanced business performance and cost savings resulting from a move to cloud services.

Ian will also discuss and answer questions on the following;

- How a strategic review can prioritise short, medium and long term IT requirements, see gaps and any potential risks. We will demonstrate how an IT strategy can allow for simple and effective IT budget and forecasting

- How CT helped Ashgate Hospice enable effective and secure remote working for clinical staff, including full access to SystmOne - critical when handling financial and confidential information

- How to dramatically reduce capital expenditure by utilising cloud services

- The importance of back-up and Disaster Recovery to protect against increased cyber and ransomware attacks, with a look at the NHS WannaCry attack

- Utilising 365 charitable licensing to deliver remote working solutions
