Procurement in the NHS is in the midst of another major restructure. It is the latest stage in long-running efforts by the NHS and government to maximise the health service’s buying power by consolidating fragmented procurement systems so that it can buy at scale. The key component is the ongoing effort to aggregate procurement functions at trusts to the same level of integrated care systems so that procurement decisions are made on the same level as ICS plans for clinical services and pathways. The ambition is to make the transformation by March 2022 – no small feat and there is considerable work needed before the NHS can achieve this major shift in how it buys goods and services.
This webinar will focus on:
• How the NHS will structure its procurement system going forward
• Providing some of the key requirements systems will need to fulfil to meet this goal
• How this fits with wider NHS ambitions for procurement
This webinar will last one hour.
