Margaret Laidlaw (Mags) is Head of Privately Owned Business for Mazars in the UK and has spent the last 20 years advising businesses of all sizes on everything from strategic growth to the importance of digitisation, exit planning and preparations for sale. Mags is a Chartered Accountant, as well as a STEP-qualified family business advisor. By working with and supporting family businesses across the UK on issues including ownership structure, succession, family governance and financial planning, Mags helps them achieve success, both in business and for their family. In addition to her UK role, she sits on the international Privately Owned Business Board, a role which provides great insight into privately-owned businesses globally. Recently, Mags was shortlisted for the award of Woman of the Year – National Practice in the Women in Accountancy and Finance Awards 2020.
