Evolution of Bone Regeneration by Dr. Stephen Jacobs

In over thirty years of practicing the field of implant dentistry, with all the developments, in a variety of areas, such as implant design, implant surfaces, treatment modalities, digital workflows to name but a few, possibly the biggest evolution has been in the area of bone regeneration. Many cases, previously not amenable to treatment due to a lack of bone volume, are now able to be managed, as a result of the developments, techniques and materials. This webinar will present an overview of where we are now, what is achievable and, with predictability how we can manage anything from small deficiencies of bone to large defects. Particular focus will be made on the OSSIX® range of products.

Learning Objectives:
* Understand the principles of the biology of guided bone regeneration
* Know the different applications of the three different OSSIX® products
* Be aware of some clinical techniques for optimizing the handling of the products

Dr. Stephen Jacobs
Qualified from Birmingham University in 1985 and went into general dental practice. Started in implant dentistry in 1991 and since then devoted his career to the practice of implant dentistry. Regarded as one of the foremost implant surgeons in UK. Dr. Jacobs lectures extensively on all aspects of dental Implantology throughout North America, Asia and Europe. Runs his implant referral practice in Glasgow, UK, where all aspects of implant and reconstructive dentistry are carried out. He is a Past President of the Association of Dental Implantology UK, a committee member and Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration, and the UK Ambassador for AO. Is Past Chair of the Global Program Development committee at AO. He is a founding Board member of PEERS UK, and is the Past Scientific Chairman of the ADI and on the editorial board of three journals, an editorial reviewer for IJOMI, and runs a variety of courses at his practice, including bone grafting, sinus grafting and restorative programs.
