NCMHA Webinar Series: Integrating Culturally Relevant Mental Health Services in Primary Care Medicine for Older Adults
Cosponsored by the National Coalition on Mental Health and Aging (NCMHA) and the American Psychological Association, this webinar will focus on integrated care models that have successfully served older adults of color and from different cultural groups. In particular, Dr. Arean will discuss assessment and treatment best practices, how to integrate family effectively in shared decision making and how to overcome the time and transportation challenges many this population faces in accessing care, even in primary care. This webinar is first in a series of NCMHA sponsored webinars building upon the recent National Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Day sponsored by SAMHSA, ACL and NCMHA, and in support of National Minority Mental Health Month. Dr. Arean is an international expert in the recognition and treatment of depression and anxiety in underserved populations and older adults and a licensed clinical psychologist.
