I'm wondering how others are incorporating health equity into their safe sleep efforts?
Trina Salm Ward
01:37:20
Michigan has a brochure in Arabic, but you probably want to look at the English brochure to make sure it is in line with what you want to share: https://www.michigan.gov/mdhhs/0,5885,7-339-71548_57836_69566---,00.html

Another idea: Does the local health department have translators they use when they work with clients with those languages? Do any of them do written language translation, or do you have relationships with local hospitals that might be able to provide some translation resources?
LCO Mino Maajisewin
01:39:25
Mino Maajisewin will send all the forms that we created in our toolkit to Amanda.

I work with a tribe and we have obtained some Native Specific materials through Healthy Native Babies Project. I think incorporating and being respectful of cultural considerations when working with families plays a huge role in incorporating an equity lens
Allie Isaacson Ho-Chunk Nation

Allie Isaacson Ho-Chunk Nation
01:42:50
I know we chatted a bit about this, Jenny and Mary, and it is tought to address
Allie Isaacson Ho-Chunk Nation
01:44:35
I agree. That has been my approach too, but can be a challenging discussion. Thanks, Jenny!
Portage County PNCC- Ann S. and Mary V.
01:44:47
Have there been infant deaths recorded in native swings?
Allie Isaacson Ho-Chunk Nation
01:45:21
i would imagine they are used pretty rarely, but definitely would not be considered a safe sleep environment
Allie Isaacson Ho-Chunk Nation
01:45:33
I'm not aware of any in our community either
