Hi! Brittany from DC. Last action was a presidential watch party with other local repro orgs! I'm always eager to see how candidates will include our issue in the conversation.
Hi - I am Lisa King from St. Louis - I recently took part in a march in support of Planned Parenthood in St Louis, which is in jeopardy of losing all services in Missouri. I want to learn how I can be more knowledgeable on what is happening and how to help.
Amanda from Galveston, Texas and although I’ve made small donations and signed petitions I’m excited to know how I can do more

I’m Jen, and I recently moved from California to Georgia….about a month before the extreme bans here.
Katie B. Cambridge, MA :)
I heard of NARAL because I applied to NARAL straight out of college without fully understanding the organization and then I learned more and couldnt get enough!
I'm Chyna from Reno, NV by way of Bolingbrook, IL. I'm the president of a multicultural community service-based sisterhood organization on campus at the University of Nevada, trying to get the word out to my sisters and others on campus (:
Oops, Kate from Phoenix, AZ

Yay for campus organizing!!!
I’m Sandy, from New Jersey
Hayley from Phoenix, AZ
always looking for new ways to get involved
Susan in Edmonds, Washington
I didn't finish. Faye Marcus again. I am a member of Winnebago County Citizens for Choice and AAUW. both pro choice org. I donate monthly to pro choice org.
Hi Brigid!!!! Good to see you here! It's Tiffany (and Lillian) from the NARAL Washington State affiliate!
Hi. Elizabeth from Atlanta.
Lara currently in upstate NY. I have worked in reproductive agency and gender justice for nearly 20 years. Mostly independent working directly with folks.
Susan in Edmonds, I'm Gretchen in Mukilteo!! Hi!
us Ga girls should get together
Hi Tiffany! I met you at Elaine Phelps’ memorial!
Hi, this is Nina Chastain from St. Louis, Missouri and I work at the student health center at Washington University. My earlies NARAL memory was when I attended the march in Washington, D.C. when George the first was president. A bunch of us took an overnight bus from St. Louis and arrived in D.C. to march and rally. As an undergrad I did a few weeks of volunteer work for NARAL in St. Louis.
Hi Susan! Hi Gretchen!
I contributed NARAL and Planned Parenthood or years I participated in a phone bank for contributions - I was happy to help but swore I'd never phone bank for any cause again. I'll do lmost anything else.
Is there anything that someone can do about their university inviting church organizations to come and recruit on campus and about the campus inviting "choices," the fake pregnancy clinics to come and speak at the university at the students?
Great question Elizabeth!
Hi. Beth McLaughlin from Concord, NC. New to this.
hi I am tina in Clarkesville Georgia , new to Naral but trying to get involved since we are being attacked
Angie from South Dakota. I work with Planned Parenthood as a volunteer and have testified as an opponent of a joint resolution my state legislature tried to pass encouraging federal defunding of PP
@Elizabeth Ann-we did a brochure detailing the lies and ban bills and reference, etc. And then referenced Planned Parenthood for health care.
Hi all! This is Maia from DC! Most recently participated in the stop the bans action.
Greta from Ohio- I think the most recent event I went to was a rally at the state house to protest one of the most recent heartbeat bills
I am Phyllis from NYC. I was with NARAL from the beginning and disheartened I have to be back again! I was most recently on the phone bank.
Hi. I'm Doretta Goldberg from Port Washington NY. Long active supporter of Planned Parenthood - and more recently NARAL. Most recently attended PPHudson Peconic annual event in eastern Long Island as I have for many years.
I think hosting one of these events on your campus would be a GREAT first start, Elizabeth Anne! It would
Alex Mallory, Chicago IL. I’ve been a NARAL supporter for the past five years and just finished grad school so I am looking to get more involved.
I was thinking of some kind of lawsuit if possible.
Didn’t properly introduce myself. Emma from Atlanta, GA. Just moved here from the UK and am ready to get busy defending what I feel I’ve taken for granted my whole life with you all
people are getting violent towards prochoicers
I think providing people on your campus with information is super important, especially because fake women's health centers peddle in disinformation and mislead and shame women. It's definitely something that should be discussed when you organizer people on your campus.
please restate the 4 pillars
Hello all! I’m Skylar Moore and I live in NYC. My activism started after the killing of Trayvon Martin. After the 2016 election I knew I couldn’t just set and do nothing. I’ve organized numerous rallies and marches, including the first Families Belong Together protest in West Virginia. (WV is my home state.) I was in front of SCOTUS the day the US Senate votes to confirm Brett Kavanaugh. I’m also currently involved with the grassroots groups in NYC for Elizabeth Warren. I’m really excited to start to work with you all to fight to save Roe.
abortion access, access to birth control, paid family leave, and fighting pregnacy distrimination
Great question! NARAL's 4 pillars are defending and expanding abortion access, birth control, fighting pregnancy discrimination, and paid family leave

If anyone in Georgia wants to organize together, email me if you want at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Just letting folks know about me, on the call, Kim Nugent. I believe in freedom of women to choose. I want children to have a quality of life and love, that if they are unwanted or neglected or not able to be properly cared for is terrible. And I feel those limiting women's options are not thinking about the lives they may be condemning children and their parents to. As Men have the responsibility to support children they father which they may not be able to do. And mother's can be sacrificing a future of self sufficiency, and physical risks in having a child. We have massive problems as a result of poor mental health, and increasing imprisonment resulting from persons unable to make ends meet. Glad all of you want to increase the access to Planned Parenthood, like me.
the “Christians” think it’s murder. they say things like if someone killed a pregnant woman Thayer be charged with the murder of the unborn
Elizabeth I’m in Georgia I will email you my email is email@example.com
Thanks so much, Tina.
we need to triple in numbers
we need you in South Dakota!
Elizabeth Ann please email me the brochure you made. Nugent.firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi team! We have organizers in GA fighting on the ground already and we can connect you after this webinar!
I’m in GA too!
thanks Emma I didn’t know how to get involved
Greetings from Taos, NM
So many in GA! That is SO awesome.
I am so proud of Illnois. We passed a comprehensive health protection law for women! And the governor signed it!
Count me in with the Atlanta, GA group! Amy Carpenter - email@example.com
Please email me the brochure . firstname.lastname@example.org
I just moved here. I’d like to be a part of a letter writing party.
Of course! After this webinar I will make sure to pass along these names and contact information to our organizers on the ground and make sure you all are connected with an organizer who can help you with next steps for organizing!
the republicans are stopping laws that protect us from spousal abuse
I LOVE your initiative - incredible!
Highly recommend the NARAL GA feminist power hour if you can make it. Went to my first one last month and it was awesome
When's the next Ga power hour?
can you email the info on the Georgia events or who we contact to find out
August 28! https://prochoicegeorgia.org/events/
Do you recommend vetting people you want to invite to make sure they’re pro-choice first?
Depends if you want a brawl or not, I guess.
I always reach out to friends I know are pro choice and other orgs and groups that I know are pro choice!
I have a large national virtual community and living in a temporary location currently. Curious if there are any specifics about adapting this for virtual/national.
yes there will be anti prochoice people attending the meetings. I’ve herd they get very upset
If you only invite people you know via direct invitations (not public), you won’t have to worry so much about anti-choice people showing up
So far, we've never had an issue with anti-choice members coming to our events! I think Brittany is right that the best bet is to invite people you already know are pro-choice!
are there any events taking place around somerville or cambridge?
would love to help organize with others!
I live in NYS. Our government officials have promised to keep Row legal and funded eve if the US Government does not. How can I help women in other states?
You can use this link to find NARAL events near you! https://www.prochoiceamerica.org/page/reality-of-roe-action-hour/
NARAL Organizing Team
I love Isabelle!!! Also hi all it's Travis your host ;-)
Part of the event is asking people to make phone calls into other states!
I live in Tennessee and I am concerned my state will follow suit with the rest of the southern states as far as attempting to make reproductive restrictions. I would love to find a way to make a difference!
We can’t forget our sisters in the rural areas. Washington State has good practices, but access to medical services are few and far between in the eastern part of our state.
there are a lot of students that wa t to help at ETSU. they’re afraid to step forward
"starter kid for growing your own community!" I love that!
north Georgia is the worst we don’t even have democrats on the ballot except the national races smh
are women being arrested if they have an abortion?
Kat, the ban here doesn't take affect until January.
anyone in DC looking to connect or organize feel free to reach out email@example.com
I just moved to Albuquerque 🌵 I’d like to connect. these people seem to really care about the community
😮 that’s great
Other than cold calling strangers, is there any way to help women in other states ?
I want to get advice on how to respond to people who say abortion is murder. I get it I don’t know what to say to them.
That was awesome Isabelle!
thank you panel
it has to stay that way
When you call other states with NARAL, you call other NARAL members which makes it SO much easier!
As someone in a solidly blue state, I’d love more info on how to help people in other states — IF the organizers believe that is a useful organizing strategy, or if it is more useful for whatever reason to focus on the state where you’re a voter.
I do too
Kat - don’t worry about the negative people, only work with the supporters and help everyone build their skills.
Volunteering with NARAL is great because since it's a nationwide org, you can always find opportunities to take action helping other states.
I think building a community is the first step and then you have people that are always ready to take action with you even in other states.
People have personal and religious beliefs about abortion, and I’m not asking anyone to change their beliefs. But this is about legal access to a medical procedure that allows families to determine their own futures.
Hey all Washington State people! If you want to connect with organizers on the ground here, you can contact Lillian@ProChoiceWashington.org
It is TOUGH here in the South. Everyone has anti-choice bumper stickers and gets really emotional about the topic. We even have billboards shaming abortions.
If you're in a blue state that has protected abortion, donate to a local NARAL chapter that provides funding for abortions. For example, in Arizona, most abortion clinics are in Phoenix and we have a wait period. If you donate to our NARAL chapter, we give funds to high need people who might not be able to afford a hotel and their procedure.
I'm sure that other local chapters and abortion funds are wonderful as well!
Certain "Christina" sects believe abortion is murder. Most world religions do not. Those "Christians" will probably never respect other religions, and never change their beliefs.
I think someone willing to organize an event has plenty of planning assistance/ resources. I feel it is more nerve racking addressing questions from participants given that I am not experienced or knowledgeable. Be great if you helped connect me to others who would host with me in MD. And for others in their locations.
I mistyped "Christians" in the first sentence above.
