I’m unable to edit the document but here’s my information: Ashley Guesman, Vice Chair of YNPN Denver. Accomplishments: seeking out relationships with other young professional organizations in the Denver Metro Area; cultivating partnerships with academic institutions with nonprofit programs in 2019
Caitie Deranek Stewart
01:24:54
Thanks so much, Ashley! We're working on getting editing rights. Sorry about the mix up

Thanks for sharing the budget overview, this is very illuminating and answers a lot of questions I have been getting from my board

01:41:52
Don’t know if you’re still here Jamie, but you know you’ve been my gal for the longest time! You are amazing and I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with you.
Kayla Roney Smith
01:45:01
I think it’s helpful - these are questions that will come up across chapters, so I think it’s good to have everyone getting the same answers at once.

Sorry everyone, my internet connection is really poor at the moment. I’m here and listening.

What is the option is option if we decide not to move forward with NationBuilder?
Cliff Mayo
01:59:07
I have to say: my board is NOT a fan of NationBuilder very much. Essentially, the only thing we're getting from the affiliation agreement seems to be NationBuilder, and we feel we could get better value for our money if we weren't locked in to that
Cliff Mayo
01:59:56
As a chapter with money in the bank, DC pays $1250 per year in affiliation fee. I have trouble selling my board on this every year. It is more than half of our yearly budget deficit, and as our chapter was inactive for a few years we had basically no revenue. Feathers have been ruffled.
Caitie Deranek Stewart
02:00:59
Thanks very much, Cliff. This feedback is appreciated.
Darcee (YNPN - OKC)

How much longer is the contract?

Monera
02:01:56
And what the penalty is?
Cliff Mayo
02:07:57
I want to echo what Ashley just said about being more of a network. I get that feedback from my board _all_the_time_
Cliff Mayo
02:08:11
And from the more engaged members who are aware of National
Bacher
02:10:44
Thanks for all the feedback on how to feel more like a network - this is part of what the affiliation agreement lays out and we can be more explicit about how to build that network across in-person and virtual connections
Cliff Mayo
02:11:25
We felt the conference was not a revenue generator, but critical for the mission and a thing that should be prioritized if possible. Conferences of that sort and format are stupendously expensive.
alex
02:12:04
Unfortunately the conference really felt like one of the only meaningful interactions that we had with YNP
Cliff Mayo
02:12:13
SCOTUS just let stand a ruling that there's a right to sleep on public property, so if y'all want to come sleep on the national mall, I'm game
Cliff Mayo
02:12:58
+1 that the national conference was the most meaningful thing to us as a chapter
Caitie Deranek Stewart
02:13:34
Guys, it was the most meaningful thing for me too as a National Board member :) - I'm there with ya

I am pro conference as well

02:17:27
Sorry yall I have to run, but thanks so much for organzing this. We will be staying in tune with communication and pending opportunities for engagement. I would agree the benefical nature of a natural orgnaizational structure is the connection. And maybe holding virtual happy hours or roundabouts sharing initiatives.
Jeff Key
02:18:52
Thank you for all the great chapter support suggestions I see going into the agenda!

We have one slack for our board and one for committees - I think it's a good opportunity for stewardship and board governance of our committee volunteers

Cliff Mayo
02:22:09
Just make sure that you give us all the ability to invite :)
Brian Elmore
02:22:12
slack is free
Cliff Mayo
02:22:28
Slack provides a better-than-free version for free to nonprofits, I think
Lisa
02:23:18
Slack is free but there is a storage limit so you wouldn't want to house documents on it - but you can connect it to google drive
