Why do you suspect it was your over-confidence, and not that someone else may have been an even better fit?

Thanks! I know that frustration with not hearing back when asking for feedback
how do you mentally recover from a bad technical interview?
i love that!
What CRM tools do you use to manage your job search?
If you find that a company isn’t a good fit for you, how do you say no without burning that bridge?
Hi! Great presentation! I have some front end experience but I am a UX designer and will be applying for UX roles. Any advice?
Any advice for "passive" job seekers?
did you have any success getting leads through networking events, like technical meetups?
Can you elaborate on reaching out via LinkedIn? I’ve applied for a few companies that I don’t have a connection to - is it a bad idea to reach out completely cold to a stranger?
What should I do during my internship so that I won’t have to be unemployed right after the internship?
thank you :D
As a new software engineer, how did you respond if interviewers said, “Do you have industry experience” or “We need to know that you can code collaboratively in a workplace” even if it’s a JR position?
What does that mean when recruiter ask “where are you in interview process or which round with other company”?
Also a neuro major here, also did 3 years of research before deciding not to go to grad school. How did you approach the question of "why are you here?" (aka not doing neuro stuff?) without sidetracking the conversation?
Where do you look for contract work, any advice :) I live on the east coast…
Do you have a favorite way to practice for coding challenges?
How can I build up my network during my internship? Thank you!
it's great, thanks!
You mentioned that you’re good at that first contact(phone screening)? Do you have any tips for that specific stage?
Do you have any advice for drawing from your network while looking for a new role and employed at a company?
My husband has found UX contract work on UpWork
Thanks for the presentation - a lot of your don’t I have been doing. Couple questions - How long was your job hunt? How many informational interviews did you do? And how did you keep yourself empowered and in action? I notice I go through different spaces. It can be easy to displace time in job hunting for other projects I am involved in, volunteering, travelling etc. particularly when I struggle with clarity of what I want to do next.
there are also Slack teams that can be good for networking
@kate - which Slack Teams are these?
Is it considered bad, to send linkedIn request to the employees of the company, you are interviewing (phone or onsite) with?
Thanks so much! :)
@Elisha: I’m in a tech leadership one (Rands Leadership) - which I recommend if you’re interested in management roles. Other than that, there’s WiTChat (Women in Tech Chat). And probably a bunch of language/tech/role related ones you could find
Thanks so much, Nadine!
Where do you recommend looking for job postings?
Thanks Nadine!! Super glad to hear I am not alone
Argh tell me about it - job hunting is my least favourite thing
Do you have any resume do/don’t suggestions for developers? What worked for you?
WiTChat (http://witchat.github.io/) - best way to get an invite is from someone in the chat (if you’re interested, send me an email - email@example.com - and I’ll ask in the channel)
Tip for LinkedIn, you have more ability to connect with folks you aren't already connected to on LinkedIn from the mobile app
Thank you !!
What are your general rules of thumb regarding following up? How many times, how long before taking silence as a rejection? (i.e. post-phone screen, in-persons)
Rands Leadership: http://randsinrepose.com/welcome-to-rands-leadership-slack/ (they’re good about keeping up with requests - there’s also a private lady-leaders channel that you can get an invite to if you identify as a woman or non-binary
Thanks for everything, Nadine!
Hope we'll have access to the chat history
thanks so much, Nadine! Loved this chat
Outstanding presentation & Q&A, Nadine! thank you!
