Now I hear!
Will watch for the link to view the recorded version. Sound isn't good here.
Hi folks, because technology is weird, many people are showing up on the screen as “Catherine Turcer.” If you have a question, please type in your name at the beginning of your question so we can tell who you really are!!!
Howdy! from Mike Ahern! :)
I will be looking for your questions! Please just identify yourself.
No sound... guess I will wait for the recorded version. Marcia Calhoun, Dayton
Sounds good here -mike baron
Anyone else having trouble hearing??

sound is ok for me - Bill Davis - Dayton
Questions for Jen, anyone?
Are there any of the plaintiffs on the call?
What excuses did the mapmakers make?
for Jen Miller: If Rucho etal goes our way, how might the ACLU Ohio suit play out?
Can’t hear you Catherine??
Repeat the question
There is an echo.
Any thoughts on the Supreme court appeal?
What can we do to keep the pressure on the legislature as the court appeal goes forward? What can we do to be prepared to act (or are we truly in a wait and see mode).
Michael, we are going to talk about things we can after Freda Levenson provides an overview.
sound is good
We see only her nose and up. She should tilt her screen.
How do you determine if a district has racial gerrymandering
OMG< nobody here doubts gerrymandering happened. did you lose the first case? why are you in appeals? can we have something other than you trying to show us how bad the gerrymandering was, we are here becasue we are already on that page? nm, good luck, i am out of here. this was a waste of time
We will be getting to next steps in a minute!
Freda - can you speak to the latest updates in the case? May 3 - present?
Why can’t we start drawing maps “unofficially” now even during the stay?
Can this court / legal schedule just outlined be distributed?
In print, I mean.
Sure! We will add that into our follow up email to you.
Haven't heard any sound the entire hour but have stayed with you. Looking forward to the recorded version and the information you share with us all. Thank you for doing this despite the technical issues. I would definitely join again. Jo from Marion.
Thanks, Jo. We will make sure to get the recording to you.
Gerrymandering is slow, fair map drawing is fast!
JANE BUDER SHAPIRO
could the Rs be motivated to gerrymander again as part of a delay tactic, so that the map can't be redrawn before Dec 19

And here’s the link to make an appointment with a legislator:
And here’s a handout with more info about the pledge:
We can’t hear Camille well
Sorry, I’m confused. I thought mapping was up to the courts now. Why are we talking about a pledge?
Eventually the legislators will have to draw a map.
Whether they do it this year or not, they definitely will have to do it in 2021.
I realize that, but the process requires bipartisan agreement.
Let's get rid of districts altogether! They're fundamentally problematic and undemocratic, benefiting the two party system at the expense of every voter's preferences.
With Issue one there are guardrails, but folks will still try to rig the map as much as they can. The pledge is to get folks on record saying they are against gerrymandering and that they will work to create better maps.
Thank you for speaking into the mic!
Can we get the slide back up with the links for the pledge?
Also, I put all the links in this chat.
You’ll find them if you scroll back up.
Also please everyone look at the flyer about the pledge.
Posting here again:
And here are the two links:
And if you want to make an appointment to talk to your legislator:
Thank You Freda, you and the team did an amazing job
We will be sending a follow up email with these links and much more information!
Thank you, everyone!
