Our school is implementing a new grading system-really similar to your philosophy. Curious if you have ideas on how to get parent support.

Thank you for this grading webinar. Very helpful. My son took a course with WAH this past year. He loved his coach, and this summer has applied what he learned to his ongoing creative writing. That's been great to see! :-)

Can you speak to getting parent support for changing the way the school looks at grades?
Sandy Lynn
01:08:52
I think it would be helpful to give students an idea of what would be considered “good” writing vs “not so good” writing.

Do you have a good answer for a student who sees himself as a future computer coder and who asks, “why do I need to learn this stuff?”
Erica Alston
01:15:15
To get parents on board with Rubric grading over letter grades, I think it is important to communicate that Rubrics are instructional as well as an assessment. Students can learn specifics and learn to use rubrics to improve their writing.

I love this! Thank you so much! I have had five kids use your Write At Home program through out the years. I have an 11th grader and an 8th grader using your program this year. I have a 4th grader also. This is helping me so much to understand the program and to be able to help the fourth grader.
