Hi eveyrone, we're a bit behnd in timing. I think I talked too long. just a heads up we only have 25 minutes left
Academic Senate for CCC
50:54
Thanks
Academic Senate for CCC
50:59
and we have 16 slides left
Academic Senate for CCC
52:25
I will just reference the potential questions for slides 20 and 21 and will go briefly on slide 19
Academic Senate for CCC
52:31
I am not going to comment anymore. It's a great presentation and feels like dialogue with you guys. I forget that we are on the clock.
Academic Senate for CCC
53:06
By the way, I noticed that this presentation has no questions for the participants. Was this intentional?
Academic Senate for CCC
53:43
there are chat quetsons later in the presentation
Academic Senate for CCC
53:54
oh ok

56:49
Some faculty coommented that this is extra work, but it has made their work more meaningful. My college has allowed us to use office hours to do some of the GP work.
Academic Senate for CCC
57:45
Sounds like many of you are see great change.
Jessica Tyson
58:10
We are still very much in the planning and learning what guided pathways is stage. We have held some workshops with students that has helped, at least myself, learn more about the student perspective related toguided pathways that I've started to add into what and how I teach my material
Academic Senate for CCC
58:14
Rudkuzo, do you have any ideas about why the change has been small?
Michelle Pacansky-Brock
58:18
Please be sure to toggle the blue button to “All panelists and attendees” so we all can see your chat comments. Thanks!

I was thinking that some faculty may have already been making connections for the students and maybe didn't realize how valuable it is for students!
Academic Senate for CCC
59:14
Sorry Ty forgot to mention you're on these slides as well. feel free to chime in
Academic Senate for CCC
59:14
Jessica Ty, have you contacted ASCCC to come out to assist and support your work?
Jessica Tyson
01:00:03
I think we are working with them...I am not entirely sure, as I've only attended a couple of workshops, but we do have a guided pathways team that has been attending conferences, etc.
Academic Senate for CCC
01:01:19
The request for our team to come out would go through the Academic senate from the team, but maybe the do not know that we come out free of charge. Many think that they are on their own because they don't have the resources for an expensive consultant
Jennifer McCandless
01:02:40
Jessica, we have not asked yet, but we are planning to ask an ASCCC team to come and help us to plan our Fall FLEX Day

01:03:06
Carrie, I agree. Many faculty touch the lives of students and have no idea of the life changes they have caused. Being more intentional and maintaining communication and contact with students will allow faculty and departments to understand their impact.

Thanks Carrie. I was trying to find the link without leaving the chat.

We need to be sure these instructional practices are also integrated into our students’ online learning experiences.
Academic Senate for CCC
01:06:11
Absolutely.

Canvas, is an excellent way to have students explore career and apply discipline content that is covered in class even if you are not including it in your core assignments or evaluations.
Academic Senate for CCC
01:08:33
I think one of the best things I've done is to connect students to my professional associations and organizations in the discipline by having them review their websites
Academic Senate for CCC
01:11:04
Michelle, one of the things that our department is looking at is integrating the best practices of online courses and face-to-face courses. Because students in face-to-face courses are now highly technological, many of the online course strategies and assignments are appealing to their learning style, discussion style, and presentation style.
Academic Senate for CCC
01:12:57
That's amazing. I so want that at our college
Academic Senate for CCC
01:13:59
Thanks Katie, we'll work to provide that research for the field
Michelle Pacansky-Brock
01:14:22
That’s great. Whether we teach online our face-to-face, it is all just about good teaching. It all comes down to being an engaged, empathetic, aware instructor and integrating active learning.

THANK YOU!
