Webinar Dennis, Method, Simon - Shared screen with speaker view
Hi everyone. Thank you again for participating in this webinar. We are very happy that you have joined us! If you have a question for our speakers, please write your name and question in the chat. We kindly ask you to make concrete questions, in order for all questions to be addressed. Thank you!
Question for Method: you included some images of crops in your presentation - how does this connect with your work with communities and water?
Thank you, I will compile the questions to ask our speakers!
Question for Dennis: as you mentioned, Uganda has recently recognised the rights of nature in its National Environment Act - how has this been received in Uganda?
Question for Method (or any panelist) - In the spirit of Western societies learning from Indigenous wisdom, what principles drawn from ancestral knowledge do you think should be incorporated into Western legal systems to help make Western societies operate more consistently with the laws of Nature? For Western societies it is not a matter of recovering ancestral knowledge, so we cannot rely on customary law. As Cormac Cullinan notes, law is the DNA of Western societies and dictates how people think and act. So how do we recode Western law to be consistent with Earth Jurisprudence?
thank you to Method, Simon and Dennis! I'm sorry i have to leave now
Me too - many thanks all
