Folks up here in Rochester are doing the same thing in relation to city admin and your language would be helpful. Rochester is trying, but needs to do a lot more!

The Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, passed this year in the NYS legislature, is our NYS opportunity to push for the things we are talking about here. 35% of funds invested are supposed to go to previously marginalized communities.

I appreciate the comment about how building the whites-only suburbs lead to todays catastrophe, really putting emphasis on the scale, and I think it’s interesting that those policies came from the original New Deal.

Thank you - A woman here is from Puerto Rico and explained it’s not just a rights issue, it’s a survival issue. In PR they can’t even vote fo the US president and don’t have senator representatives. So it’s all the things Mike said, but also so much more serious.

Todd from TC3 teaches a farming internship- he’s connected to Groundswell and Coltivare- these would be great places for more education to happen around social justice connected to farming and the GND. I’m in the TC3 farming internship now and would LOVE to see Rafa & groundswell come into the classroom every year- as well as the classrooms at Coltivare. - Cheyenne

I was a signatory on a letter from farmers of color to Elizabeth Warren. We convened a meeting to discuss her policy to help ag/rural communities. The key is lobbying/advocating with politicians themselves. I am also a local politician and the people who get my ear are the ones who reach out to me directly. fyi
