Are there statistics on the effectiveness / relative effectiveness of these efforts?
Doug Linney
42:25
That includes all Latino voters in the targeted districts
Shabbir Safdar
54:55
I found it shocking that a lot of people did not know about conditional voter registration. We trained our Last Weekend people on this, and even they didn't know.
Shabbir Safdar
58:19
DEFENSE. We must protect the fresh(wo)men.
Jeanne Trombly
58:33

Wayne Liebman
59:35
Lower races lower down on the ballot--city councils, mayors, board of education, assembly, etc.
Jeanne Trombly

01:00:43
I’d like to see Flip the 14 work to reduce barriers to voting for our likely voters and support their civic engagement
Patricia Kelly Carlin
01:00:56
RE: survey, I would secure volunteers and funding and secure California Congressional seats and be open to expanding once these races are secured and building on the war room and cooperation with other organizations like Indivisible etc.
Delilah Leval
01:01:09
We only needed 2 senate seats. There had to have been some races that our efforts could have made a difference in, right?
Shabbir Safdar
01:01:36
We need to keep seeping blue from the Pacific to Nevada. Then we can turn outwards from California.
Jeanne Trombly
01:02:26
The name is so specific to 2018 mid terms … a whole big picture needs to be looked at. The network however needs to carry on!
Andrea MacRae
01:03:11
There are many many nationally focused organisations looking at strategic elections. Instead of reaching out beyond California, what about supporting them with access to volunteers from Calirfonia? None of those organisations are going to choose the remaining CA races as strategic and yet we know, it’s going to take two years to get back the Central Valley and others.

Since you guys are mostly political consultants, any chance you can train folks on analyzing precincts, using PDI or other data software so they can run local races. (yes, it may be a long term conflict of interest…..)
Andy DeBaets
01:03:47
Selected down ballot inside of California. District by district analysis. Build the bench. Some districts have week benches
Andy DeBaets
01:04:22
Selected external congressional races as well, very targetted
Andy DeBaets
01:04:39
*Weak benches
Donald Lathbury

Questions more likely to be answered if they are in the Q&A queue that way <—

For 2020, recruiting great candidates. Many outstanding candidates in 2018, need another round in 2020
Dian Grueneich
01:05:39
Which women
Dian Grueneich
01:05:59
Which women groups did you work with?
Deborah Lowe
01:06:18
Totally agree, with building communities. Coming from outside the community you can only do so much. Can we help the local dems build their base? Getting the locals to become invested would seem to help, in particular the marginalized population. I canvassed some lower income areas, how to get them to feel invested in their candidates.
Delilah Leval
01:07:05
ALRIGHT!!
Shabbir Safdar
01:08:24
We'll be done when there are no republicans left in CA.
Patricia Kelly Carlin
01:16:52
I connected with the volunteers I met while raising money and recruiting volunteers, it would be good to have projects to work on to get these folks together — even if just quarterly…to strengthen these relationships. It would be helpful to have flip the 14 design suggested plans/events to keep volunteers active and engaged. Will we be working on voter registration for 2020?
Shabbir Safdar
01:19:22
We will, but it will take a month to get the data unless you have a better source.
Shabbir Safdar
01:25:05
That's why our voter universe is published to our website.

Re: helping local Dems build their base
MaryClaire Neumann
01:29:40
In canvassing around Tracy since summer of 2017 we always asked Democratic voters if they would be interested in volunteering. That helped build up the Tracy Dems.
