I’m struggling with the non-graphical resume concept, simply because I’m a UX designer and all the examples I’m seeing for my field are “pretty” and very visual… Does your best practice of a text base resume apply to designers?
ro.dixon
31:21
That makes total sense - thank you! :)
Noelle Stransky
31:22
(UX Designer here) Lean on your typography skills :D you don’t need the graphics and it feels a bit dated often.
Jenn
31:24
Is there a way to know if a company is using a tracking system or not?
zulayscottborgh
31:25
I have used Canva to create my resume and cover letter. I haven’t been able to find layouts that show the look on programs like microsoft word

Do you recommend contacting hiring manager on Linkedin? Whether you have a potential link or not?
bernicechow
45:23
What are other convo starter/prompts when reaching out to connections to a job? The first example was useful!
zulayscottborgh
46:21
To Hannah’s point, do you recommend that once you find the hiring manager, you should address your cover letter to them?
shannonwenkoff
48:23
That’s what happened to me
zulayscottborgh
48:40
thank you!
Elise
50:42
Thanks for these tips. Super helpful! How do we practice what language (general or specific to the job) to use when getting interviewed by the hiring manager, versus the department manager, versus director/upper-level management? I struggle getting too detailed! :)
Keli
52:20
How important is a LinkedIn profile while job searching?
Keli

mariya
01:05:21
how would you address the summary of qualifications if you have no professional experience
Elise
01:06:38
What's your perception of "Wildcard" as a keyword on a resume?
shannonwenkoff
01:07:18
When describing professional experience is it okay to use bullets points?
Elise
01:07:20
If you take on multiple roles on a job
Elise
01:07:45
Yes, if you were assigned tasks outside of your job description
zulayscottborgh
01:09:03
i’m not sure if i missed this, but with the SOQ would you be replacing the your skills portion of the resume?
stef
01:10:16
what if you are working freelance?
