Thank you for discussing barriers to reporting, this is really important to address, especially for service providers who have a responsibility to address equity and access to reporting

04:34:51
Ditto Roselyn.

04:38:24
I agree, that's not enough time

04:39:07
Especially considering the trauma and harm to those trafficked

04:41:01
Thank you for such helpful information!

04:45:29
GA passed a Benefits Trafficking statute in 2018 with a 1-20 yr. sentence that can be added on to the usual at-risk abuse charges (also 1-20 yr. sentences). While the perpetrators usually plea for lower sentences, the added Benefits Trafficking charge has the potential for much heavier sentences!

04:47:40
Huh, Lindsey, I wonder if my state (Michigan) has a similar Benefits Trafficking statute.

04:49:01
Were they in Kansas?

04:49:53
Sounds like the book: The Girl Who Cried Wolf by Nancy Jensen

05:00:46
Ericka, I work for CIL here in Michigan. How do you go about screening for trafficking with your consumers? Can you give some specifics?

05:01:15
Can you touch on COVID and how that has impacted service delivery and increased vulnerabiities during this time of lockdown, unemployment, etc.?

05:03:17
The Adult Advocacy Centers in Ohio are looking for collaborators on supporting the reintroduction of the Crime Victims with Disabilities Act. If you or your organization are interested, contact Katherine Yoder at kyoder@adultadvocacycenters.org

05:04:35
Yes, and thank you Ericka and Jody. This was so great!

05:05:51
And for those who are acquiring CEUs, I’m about to take a screenshot of the participant list. For disclosure if you see me doing that on my screen :)

Thank yall
