01:56:40
What’s the acceptance rate for manuscripts?
Peter Lindeman - NSTA
01:56:41
That article involved a papier-maché Godzilla (!)

Elizabeth can be reached at ebarrettzahn@nsta.org
David Wojnowski
01:56:58
I remember it.
Peter Lindeman - NSTA
01:58:10
Acceptance rate varies by journal. Generally, we want to publish your article, and will work with authors to make that happen. Generally acceptance is anywhere from 40%-60%.
porbe
01:58:22

annmackenzie
02:05:14
@Holly, Yes you can…
Kristin Bass
02:05:32
How do you determine NGSS alignment? Do you use the EQuIP rubric?
Holly Amerman (she/her)
02:05:51
Thanks- I can add the corresponding NGSS probably but AP Bio is so obviously 3D as well it should be pretty clear.
Omah Williams-Duncan
02:06:30
If you would like to get NGSS training, where can you get that information? I am in a state that does not use NGSS and training is sparse.
Peter Lindeman - NSTA
02:06:33
@Kristin - yes, you will also get specific feedback from our NGSS reviewers
annmackenzie
02:06:43
Holly, I would still add in the NGSS alignment to your manuscript.
porbe
02:07:01
What’s the average timeframe from submission to publication?
Elizabeth Barrett-Zahn
02:07:04
@Omah: NSTA offers webinars for NGSS implementation
Holly Amerman (she/her)
02:07:10
@annmackenzie okay I will do that!
Elizabeth Barrett-Zahn
02:07:45
@porbe: Each journal is different. S&C can be up to three years.
porbe
02:08:14
Ok, thanks
Peter Lindeman - NSTA
02:08:15
@porbe it’s pretty variable. The K-12 journals have a good backlog, so it may take 18 months or more. But for articles on a specific theme, it can be shorter
Beth Murphy, NSTA-CSL
02:08:16
For CSL, the timeline from submission to publication can be less than 6 months in some cases.
Omah Williams-Duncan
02:08:27
Are those NGSS webinars archived on the NGSS website beyond the extensive NGSShub on the NSTA website?
Colson, Gianna
02:08:40
Is the username and login different from our NSTA account?
David Wojnowski
02:08:48
JCST averages about 18 to 24 months
Peter Lindeman - NSTA
02:09:36

02:12:07
CSL is practitioner focused too.
Narendra Deshmukh
02:12:24
Are these journals index based?
Elizabeth Barrett-Zahn
02:12:37
If the manuscript doesn’t fit for the journal, we may make recommendations for a better fit.
Peter Lindeman - NSTA
02:12:37
No, not indexed
Beth Murphy, NSTA-CSL
02:12:39
Though research that has practical application is also appropriate for CSL.
Beth Murphy, NSTA-CSL
02:13:31
Yes, if I receive a submission from CSL that is too classroom focused, I will refer authors to one of the K-12 journals.
Nicole Flemon
02:14:17
What type of citations do you need for your journals?
David Wojnowski
02:14:43
JCST - APA

Elizabeth Barrett-Zahn
02:18:59
