You can start asking questions here. Thank you
Lori Cobbs
24:53
How can we get the Evansdale footprint back on the Vista Grove map (as it was originally)? What would be next steps? Thank you!!
John G
26:11
Agreed. People outside 285 voted strongly during the LaVista Hills vote.
Paul Hiltman
26:27
Are there advantages to joining an adjacent city (such as Tucker) rather than setting up a new city?
Diagnostics’s iPhone
26:36
What is the geographic area of proposed city?
Mark Marino
31:46
Thank you, Angela (Barnett)!
Ward Silver
32:22
What was the purpose of Senators Parent, Harrell, and Rep. Oliver in generating SB 507?
Sven Lovegren
34:02
Where is Evansville?
Sven Lovegren
35:22
Evansdale?
Glen McDonnell
35:24
Since we can't take over or affect schools, can you please tell people specifically what cityhood gets for us? What would this city control or provide for its inhabitants?
Allyse Denmark
35:41
do you have a map with street names? is the Sheffield area included?
Lori Cobbs
35:52
thank you!
Wallace Moreman
37:26
why are we no longer considering police?
Stephen Davis
38:48
Will the city slow down or stop development?
Barbara Vargas
39:36
Will the proposed charter be fresh to begin with, without the constraints/provisions lawmakers previously imposed (ie: pension liabilities, 10 years without city police)?
Wallace Moreman
40:09
i can say as the former President of Atlanta Colt Youth Assoc at Murphey Candler park the investment in the park, lake, trails increased significantly once Brookhaven took control.
Wallace Moreman
41:30
youth participation in sports tripled the last 2 years.
Angela Barnett -- VGI
42:03
Allyse: An interactive map is available at VistaGrove.org
Angela Barnett -- VGI
42:35
Murphey Candler is an excellent park and sports league. I have children who have participated there.
Tim Cape
44:01
Brookhaven did it right. Not including public safety in the charter is a deal breaker for me.
Ward Silver
44:08
Has a new feasibility study been done recently by UGA?
Angela Barnett -- VGI
44:59
A new feasibility study has not been done. There is, however, new information from the County's impact study and a new Municipal Assoc study (which has not yet been published)
Phyllis Bazinet
45:20
Would fire protection also be provided by the County?
Wallace Moreman
45:41
Chamblee has secured significant funds from a federal program called ARC that has allowed them to abate old buildings to create local business. Also allowed them to pave roads the county could not. Dekalb had not attempted to secure these funds
Barbara Vargas
46:15
Thank you. Nebulous pension liabilities provision was a deal-breaker for me. too much potential for lawsuits due to undefined dollar figures.
Mark Marino
46:25
Andrew, Angela and/or John - What is the likelihood that a state legislator, and/or Governor Kemp, could change our existing map before the legislature passes the legislation,; and before Governor Kemp reviews the legislation? If there is such a likelihood, what would the change probably look like? And would that be problematic for passage of the legislation? Thank you
Kathi Cannella
46:27
What about zoning?
Wallace Moreman
48:20
Chamblee has 2 times the number of police than the national average. one officer for every 450 residents vs one for every 1,100.

The last map cut out my property on Lavista Rd. (one side). Does the current map include all of Lavista rd again?
Glen McDonnell
53:47
A few years ago, at a meeting for one of these cities, there was a lot of discussion about needing to incorporate commercial space to support the tax base of a city. It looks like most of the commercial real estate has been annexed around us. Does that put the economic position of cityhood for this city at risk?
Ward Silver
54:52
So now that Vernon Jones has bowed out, who will you have sponsor the legislation?
Stephen Davis
55:24
WHat can the new city do to help with the sewage overflows into echo lake
Andrew Flake -- VGI
57:20
Sens. Sally Harrell and Elena Parent, with support from Rep. Mary Margaret Oliver, introduced the Vista Grove bill last year. The coronavirus disrupted that legislative session, and a bill will need to be reintroduced by them this year -- ideally, with support from as many other of our local legislators as possible.
Angela Barnett -- VGI
58:39
Stephen Davis: We, volunteers, do not have a plan for Echo Lake, but that is something a city would look into. I understand the county has some plans in the works for the Briarlake side of Briarcliff.

01:02:28
Where would city hall or government be housed?
Mark Marino
01:05:10
John, I accidentally just sent my question to just you. My bad. Could you open up my last question to the entire audience? And the responses from Andrew, Angela and/or you? Thanks, John.

I lived in Dunwoody before & after incorporation and there was no improvement in public safety. Additionally, the new city council pushed through multiple expenditures of tax payers dollars, despite the fact that the majority of the residents (60%) didn’t want their tax dollars spent on those projects. How do you propose to prevent this from happening with the Vista Grove city council? If you think public safety doesn’t need improvement in this area, then I highly suggest you look at the constant crime posts on Nextdoor and the fact that we rarely see any police presence on our streets in Briarcliff Woods East and from what I’m hearing tonight, that will not change. Cityhood will not solve all of our problems.
Lori Cobbs
01:16:18
is this being recorded so folks who missed it can watch later?
Angela Barnett -- VGI
01:20:38
This meeting is being recorded. We will post it, with other recorded meetings, on our website and distribute on our Facebook page.
Lori Cobbs
01:20:49
excellent. thank you!
Angela Barnett -- VGI
01:22:44
HB: Thank you for that insight. No city is perfect and I cannot speak specifically to the criticisms waged against Dunwoody. We can, however, make improvements and target our community voice through creating a city.
Leslie Gartner
01:23:53
Thanks for the informative answers.
Andrew Flake -- VGI
01:24:20
Thank you, everyone, for joining this evening!!
Wallace Moreman
01:24:55
thank you guys for all your hard work
John Ayoub -- VGI

Thanks everybody!!!

01:26:21
school redistricting is exactly one of the things that I look to VG to help us lobby for.
Angela Barnett -- VGI
01:26:53
Me too, Lori.
Lori Cobbs
01:27:28
and Evansdale is currently in the lakeside feeder pattern. we want to stay in it.
Angela Barnett -- VGI
01:28:04
Yes, Evansdale is a valuable member of the Lakeside cluster.

can you tell us what projected staffing would the city have ?
Wallace Moreman
01:30:10
where can we get flyers to hand out?
HB
01:30:46
Thank you Angela, but you’ve lost my support in creating a city of Vista Grove. Your reply speaks in too many generalities and sound like a used car salesman.
Angela Barnett -- VGI
01:32:08
HB - I'm sorry to hear that. We are the volunteer organizers, not the city officials. That is somewhat limiting in specifics.
